Dena Frith Moore

Chief Operating Officer, CAP91 Partners

Dena spent almost 25 years as an investment banker, advising companies across a wide array of industries on merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. From 1991- 2011, she worked for Richmond-based Harris Williams & Co., one of the largest M&A Advisory firms in the country, serving as Harris Williams & Co.'s Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer from 2001-2011. In this role, she had responsibility for developing the organization's infrastructure and managing the firm's operations, including the areas of real estate, accounting/finance, legal, HR, regulatory, and compliance.

Dena retired (for the first time!) in 2011 and started a consulting practice, working primarily with small businesses and entrepreneurs on the pivotal operational and strategic decisions they face as they grow. She also worked on several strategic initiatives with the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond over the course of more than three years.

In late 2022, Dena returned to the world of finance as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Richmond-based CAP91 Partners, a newly founded private equity co-invest fund.

Dena holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Virginia Commonwealth University. She has served on a number of non-profit, educational, and governmental boards including the Board of Visitors for UNC-Chapel Hill, the Boards of Directors of CARITAS and Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), the Board of Directors of the Virginia Resources Authority, and the Board of Governors for St. Christopher’s School, among others. She has also been a member of several privately held company boards.

Dena and her husband, Chris, have lived in Richmond for 30+ years. Their older son, Ben, graduated from UVA in 2019 and is working on a Masters degree at Columbia University. Their younger son, Sam, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2022 and is now in graduate school at UVA.
